I am a visual artist currently working in oil paint to explore themes of faith and the human experience through contemporary landscapes.
For many, nature is an escape from the unsettling realities of this world. There is something mysterious that occurs in the human soul when gazing at the ocean; feelings of peace and joy arise, where the beauty of this earth is undeniable. On the other hand, many cannot help but experience a longing for a better, truer, deeper version of our current life, for a place we have never been.
Through the medium of oil paint, I use fog and water imagery to blur our perception of nature and to bring about feelings of hope and yearning. My paintings suggest that our present experience of this world is obscured; that it is a reflection in a mirror, a glimpse of what is to come.

Originally from the Midwest, I received my B.S. in Art Education from North Dakota State University in 2017 and taught middle school art for one year. Ready for a new adventure and warmer temperatures, my husband and I moved to Portland, Oregon in June 2019. We’re obsessed.
